Fund the place that lets us say yes.
We're raising $125,000 to build and equip a kennel facility of our own — and covering vetting and foster care for the dogs already in our care in the meantime. Paw of Duty Lodging is a 501(c)(3); every donation is tax-deductible.
Step one
Choose where your gift goes
Tell us what you care about most. These are preferences, not restrictions — we'll follow yours wherever we can.
Priority

Kennel Fund
Building and equipping the facility — kennels, cooling, fencing, exercise yards. The property is financed separately, so this goes into the build itself.

Dogs in Our Care
Vetting, medical treatment, and foster care for the dogs already with us — the day-to-day cost of keeping them healthy.

Greatest Need
Wherever it's needed most that week. The most useful gift you can make to a small organization.

What every donor gets
Our thanks. This is a small rescue, and most of our hours go to dogs on deadlines — so we'd rather promise you less and spend the time there. You can follow along on Facebook and Instagram.

What a dog actually costs us
These are our real numbers, not round ones. A healthy dog runs about $400 from the shelter door to ready-for-home; a sick or injured dog runs more.
$20
The shelter's pull fee — what it costs to get a dog out the door.
$20
A microchip, registered to their new family.
$55
Vaccines for one dog coming off a list.
$300
Spay or neuter — the single biggest bill on every pull.
$400
One healthy dog, all in — pull, vaccines, spay or neuter, and chip.
More
Dogs who come off the list sick or injured: urgent treatment, quarantine, and care until they're cleared to travel.

Questions donors ask
Where does my donation actually go?
+
Right now, two places: the Kennel Fund — building and equipping our facility, since the property itself is financed separately — and the direct cost of the dogs already in our care: vetting, spay and neuter, microchips, urgent medical treatment, and foster care. You can tell us which you care about most, and we follow that preference wherever we can. We also ask you to leave the “use it wherever it's needed most” box checked, because need moves week to week. If you'd rather your gift stayed with one thing, uncheck it and we'll honor that.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
+
Yes. Paw of Duty Lodging is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 88-2154618.
Why should I give when you're not boarding?
+
Because the boarding stopping is exactly the problem. We lost the facility, and until we have another one we can only save dogs an adopter has already found. Every dollar right now is pointed at fixing that — a $125,000 build, 12–18 months after we secure the property — and we're still pulling dogs off lists in the meantime.
Can I give monthly and cancel later?
+
Yes, and no hard feelings if you do. Monthly gifts can be paused or canceled at any time by emailing us.
Does my employer match gifts like this?
+
Thousands of companies match employee donations to 501(c)(3) organizations, often dollar for dollar. Ask your employer about their matching program — our EIN is 88-2154618.
I'd rather not give online.
